Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Kerri, who asked me to take photos of her and her husband for his homecoming from a 9-month deployment. I am a volunteer photographer at Operation: Love ReUnited (www.oplove.org), and this was my first time photographing a homecoming. Anticipation was high, and the moment when families were able to run to their soldiers was so chaotic and joyous that you could just feel that immediate flooding of emotion in the air. It was a wonderful experience. Thank you to both Kerri and Dan for your loyalty to our country and to each other. I can’t think of a better way to spend the 4th of July than reunited with your loved one!!
I had such a fun time photographing little Lane- look at all of his squish, at just a few days old! I just love his little mouth 🙂
Be sure to check out Lane’s slideshow here!
Thank you to Morgan and Martez for trusting me with your brand new little boy. You have such a beautiful family!

OK everyone. I have a secret to tell. Photographing couples is my FAVORITE! I just love it when I tell two people to look into each others eyes. At first they kind of laugh, and then I watch their faces transform as they actually LOOK at this person that they love and are so close with. It is so awesome.
I met up with Grace and Dan at Mehlinger Heide to take some family photos of them and their dogs, Norton and Ziggy. The sun actually decided to shine a little, which is a rarity around here!
How stinkin’ cute are they?
I am not a dog person… but these two were SO well behaved!
It wasn’t very cold that day, but we foreshadowed the coming months:
Thank you so much, Grace and Dan, for coming out and taking these photos!!
