Happy first birthday to sweet little Abby! I photographed maternity and newborn for this family so I was so excited to see her back in my studio a year later. I know I’ve mentioned it before, but as a Raleigh Cake Smash Photographer I love love love to watch my little newborn baby clients grow! Since coming back from maternity leave in late October (about 4 months) I have already had around 12 repeat clients. Nothing makes me happier than seeing families year after year, and catching up!
Abby’s mom wanted a bright, colorful cake smash! It was so fun to plan for this one. Usually I do a balloon garland, but I had fun searching for a different kind of garland. Fun story… I spent over two hours the night before Abby’s session making these tissue paper flowers. When I lived in Germany I had some of these that I kept and used for about three years in cake smash setups, so I was thinking that I would just keep them in storage to use for future sessions. Well, let me tell you… they were NO match for Abby! She is a little firecracker and she was on the GO. She immediately picked some up and started excitedly tearing them to shreds and shaking them around everywhere. I should have known… anything in a cake smash setup will possibly be torn up! She was cracking me up. Her mom was out of breath chasing her around and keeping the energy up. It’s par for the course with a one-year-old that is already walking and loves to move!
