Let’s talk Cake Smash Setups! As a Raleigh Cake Smash Photographer, I love coming up with cute color schemes and backgrounds for cake smash sessions. I can work with different themes, however my favorite setup to do is a simple balloon garland backdrop! They make a great background for the photos, look fun and festive, and are easy to put together with any colors that you have in mind. And as a bonus, you can take home the balloon garland with you to use at your baby’s birthday party, if you wish!
Raleigh Cake Smash Photographer
For your cake smash session, I will provide the backdrop decorations, the cake stand, the cake topper, and the cake. You will choose the colors and cake design. Your cake will be either 4″ or 6″, depending on the design.
You bring the baby, I provide the rest! I do have a small wardrobe of outfits that work well for cake smashes, or you can provide your own clothing for your little one.
My favorite local bakeries for smash cakes are A Taste of Brooklyn, located in downtown Apex, and Once in a Blue Moon Bakery, located in downtown Cary. If your child has allergies or food sensitivities, I find a baker that works with that! Cake smash cakes are vanilla with buttercream frosting.

Scheduling your Raleigh Cake Smash Session
Please inquire a few months before your baby’s birthday to get on the schedule. I only have 3-4 cake smash openings per month, and they can fill up quickly! I prefer to do the session around 3 or 4 weeks before baby’s actual birthday. My turnaround time is two weeks, so if you schedule the session when baby is 11 months old, you will have time to get a few photos printed by their actual birthday.
