I was so excited to see Ivy again for her Cary smash cake session! I photographed her newborn session a year ago. Not sure how a whole year has passed… but she is getting so big, and is such a beautiful little girl. I love watching my newborn clients grow!
Ivy’s parents chose the mini cake smash session for her. This session includes one fun, festive setup, and the cake for baby to smash! I always get a few pictures beforehand to get baby warmed up, and then we bring out the cake and it’s desert time!
Fun fact: most babies don’t actually SMASH their cake! They just kind of poke at it and squish their fingers together to feel the icing. Then they tentatively taste it, decide they like it (because hello… it’s cake!) and usually start methodically eating it. I usually ask mom/dad to dig out a chunk and give it to baby to get them started! After they are used to the cake, we can usually get a few smiles, claps, and arm waves out of them! I love watching how every baby reacts to their cake!
